Last year, my name was suggested by my seniors to the higher authority, for a training session in Kolkata, where latest updates of Income Tax were supposed to be informed. It was a prestigious matter, as it meant that my seniors appreciated my hard works. So I was eager to join this training and thus, I lost no time in searching in the internet and found a seat available on the scheduled date, on Indigo Airlines.
I also booked online a hotel accommodation in a 3 Star hotel in Kolkata, named Hotel Lindsay, in Lindsay Street that was at the center of the city, as per the information posted on the net. I had heard a lot about the delicacies of Kolkata and being a food-lover, I decided to taste as many foods there, as I could in the limited time. Apart from the pocket-friendly costs of the air tickets of Indigo Airlines, I was quite impressed with their in-flight services and the friendly behavior of their crew members.
- Though this airline does not offer any complimentary meal, to keep to its low cost; the passengers could buy foods onboard and I really loved the taste of the chicken sandwich and the chocolate cookies, which I bought during this 2 hour journey.
- The seats were comfortable enough for resting during this short journey and the crew helped the passengers, whenever they needed any aid.
- The passengers were given an in-flight magazine, called Hello 6E that was a publication of the Indigo Airlines, for reading during their journey.
- The passengers can ask for a pre-assigned seat or priority check-in, in return of a nominal extra fare. Even multiple cancellations of air tickets may also need to pay some charge.
- But I heard that the students were offered a certain amount of discount on their airfare and they could even carry more luggage for free of charge. The group booking of air tickets for more than 10 people also required to pay much lesser airfare, than the single bookings.

Loved the taste of typical Bengali snacks from all Kolkata food shops
On the first day of our training, we were served a typical Bengali delicacy at the lunch time. It looked much like the puris we have at home in Delhi, but it was tastier. I asked the local staff about its name and learned that these puris were called Kachuri and the potato curry was aloo dum, favorite among all the Bengalis. I loved the taste these foods and I went to a food shop in the evening, after our training was over for the day. There I bought more of these Kachuri and aloo dum, to eat to my heart’s content.
I also tasted several other Bengali cuisines and loved all of them. So I have decided to plan a personal trip to Kolkata with my wife and eat all those delicacies again with her.
